BD Makerspace's Droitwich Repair Café

Donation protected
Our aim is to set up a Makerspace Community Workshop for the Bromsgrove / Droitwich area. The Maker Movement is growing, and promotes learning, tech skills, traditional crafts, community engagement and arts projects - and we believe our local residents of all ages, abilities and skill levels would benefit greatly from a Makerspace.

Our ultimate aim is to have a permanent, well-equipped workshop space where individuals, charities and organisations can meet, use tools, have space to create, and work together on awesome projects.

The BDMakerspace campaign is raising some cash to help us print leaflets, put on some regular FREE events, hire rooms, support community-based partners, advertise, register as a CIC... all the usual day-to-day costs of promoting a good cause!

Currently, we're running a free local REPAIR CAFÉ, and any funds donated will not only keep the campaign alive, but cover expenses for our insurance, room hire, and consumables like batteries, fuses, tape, glue... all the things we need to keep us going!

In 2024, we're planning on taking the next step and becoming a CIC (Community Interest Company) so we can pursue funding sources and organise more events. Obviously, this comes with its own burdens, but our volunteers are up for the challenge! Any additional funds we can raise on our own will make the campaign a lot easier to maintain.

Thank you very much for supporting the campaign!
