Beaver Backers Protecting Life
Donation protected
It's time to start raising funds again!
This spring, we plan to continue painting trees at Trefoil park in Fargo.
This past fall, we had a successful turnout of dedicated advocates who wanted to be a part of perserving the park and the wildlife that makes their homes there.
We also had a very generous donation of Ecos brand environmentally friendly paint from The HSUS Wildlife Neighbors program to use this spring when we continue the painting at Trefoil park!
We still need funds so that we can purchase enough paint brushes for volunteers, masonary sand, and buckets for mixing paint. We also are looking to paint at Lemke Park in Fargo where there is even more beaver activity.
Painting the trees with a mixture of Ecos brand environmentally safe paint and masonary sand helps to protect the trees that the park wishes to save from beaver activity. By saving the trees, we'd be protecting the beavers from being horribly killed by the park because of the "damage" they cause to the trees.
What some percieve as "damage" actually can be very beneficial to the area occupied by the productive beavers.
Wildlife expert, Dave Pauli has not only shown how tree painting can be effective when done correctly, but that "culling" the beavers can actually stimulate population and upset the already established eco-balance.
