Ben's Bucket List
Donation protected
Most of you know our son Ben. He was 6 when he was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a type of brain cancer.
After his diagnosis he had brain surgery and developed posterior fossa syndrome. He did not walk or talk for several weeks after surgery. He went on to have radiation and chemotherapy over the next year and finished his treatment in June 2017. He then slowly recovered, but continues to have side effects from the initial surgery. He struggles with his balance and has a facial nerve palsy. This causes one side of his face to droop and one eye to turn in. People sometimes stare at him and treat him a little differently, but to us he is still the same little dude his was before. Fun loving, empathetic, full of humour and mature beyond his years. We recently found out during a routine MRI that another tumor has started to grow. This is devastating. He was doing so well, attending school again and showing signs of good health. We are waiting to find out what treatment options there might be, but prognosis looks grim. We are trying to keep him upbeat and encouraged him to make a bucket list.
Many have already offered to make some of his wishes come true others have asked to donate money to help make other wishes come true.
Carla was off of work for a year to help with his treatment and health care. She has recently gone back to work. I am working half time this year to help him transition back to school, so we do not have the monetary flexibility that we would like to make all of his wishes come true. Please donate as much or as little as you feel comfortable. All funds will be used for Ben's Bucket List.
