Alberto Halpern Long-term Care

Alberto and Alex celebrated their wedding in Marfa, Texas on Saturday, June 10th.  Less than 48 hours later they were in a head-on collision that left Alberto with a tragic and life-changing set of injuries including two broken legs, a broken pelvis, a ruptured spleen, a punctured lung, multiple facial fractures and the possible loss of sight in one or both eyes, among other injuries too numerous to mention here.  After several weeks of silence and multiple operations we are so happy that Beto has gained conciousness and is speaking to doctors, family and friends.  But these newlyweds have a long road ahead of them with multiple surgeries and a wide range of rehabilitation services, and will need multiple care-givers to assist in his recovery.  Anything you can give will help.  They have a broad community of support behind them and together we can make a real difference in their lives. 

Please also be aware of the local fundraiser - On Friday, July 21, 2017, at 4:30 PM, a benefit for Halpern will be held at Tin Man Filling Station at Montecillo, 4952 N. Mesa. The suggested $5 cover charge will be donated directly to the couple and guests can participate in a silent auction that will include local artwork, nights in Marfa’s Faxonia Air BnB and El Cosmico, and other unique items. Gifts can be won in participation with Star Wars- themed Loteria throughout the evening. Tin Man Filling Station will also donate all the proceeds from select taps.
