Little Chance is fighting the fight of his young life. He was diagnosed with HLH in September and has been a fighter ever since. HLH is a rare disorder of the immune system. Since September little Chance has undergone all kinds of testing and treatments. He is currently at Boston Children's Hospital undergoing chemotherapy to wipe out his immune system and then a bone marrow transplant donor is waiting for him when that is done. We are beyond grateful for his donor from Germany and are in hopes this will cure his HLH. In the meantime, we know that after his transplant in a week or so, he will have to be at Boston Children's Hospital for at least four weeks or more after the transplant and then be very close to Boston for a while longer, until he is cleared for home. During this time and for at least 9 months after little Chance will have to be in complete isolation with only one caregiver besides his parents to keep him safe from germs, infections and getting colds from others. His parents have been by his side all the way since day one and plan to stay with him every day until he can come home.
If you can find it in your heart to help this young family in their fight for Chance's life, his family would be forever grateful. God bless you all and little Chance and his family throughout this journey.
