My name is Johnny Cowan and I volunteer at Big Oaks Rescue Farm for large animals located in Greenwood,SC.I have been with the farm for 6 years.This is one of our latest rescues.
Our boss and Founder of Big Oaks Rescue Farm Joe Mann was laid to rest on October 28,2016.
Joe started Oaks Oaks Rescue Farm in 2007.He had a love and passion for the animals that was rescued.I went on some of the rescue trips with him and enjoyed every one.Got educated alot on animals.
We want to keep his legacy alive and moving forward and in need of help.Money will go to purchase feed around $15.00 a bag,hay round bales $25-$50 and medical bills that occur.
Big Oaks Rescue Farm is a rescue and sanctuary dedicated to helping animals who are in need.We have a great group of volunteers who are at the farm seven days a week during the hot summer days,cold,rain and snow with no pay.They are decated to the farm and animals.
Our mission and purpose is to provide a resuce farm for animals who have been abused,neglected or rescued from euthanasia.
We work to provide them with a second chance of health,life and a loving home.
Our second goal is to provide education and public awareness about animal care and welfare to our community.
South Carolina ranks 47th in animal welfare legislation.
