Black Panther Theatre Rental

Donation protected
I am raising $2000 for families that live in Tulsa, Oklahoma for the upcoming release of Marvel's Black Panther.

I wanted to raise money for this community & the film itself because I think it is extremely important for families to see a black character as the king, the leader, the good guy, the SUPERHERO. I want to create an overall experience for the families that are able to attend.

I think with all that's going on in the world, it's important for all families to receive a different narrative of black culture. The narrative of black people in music or film isnt always depicted in the best light. I feel there are many films to show black people as drug dealers, slaves, and more commonly the comedic relief. It is lesser known to see the black superhero.

It is in the works to get a theater rented out at the Cinemark in Tulsa, OK (see attached picture) but has not yet been confirmed. If this ends up not possible, I will purchase each ticket individually for the families with the funds donated.

As of February 15, 2018 we have been able to purchase 50 tickets for 50 children in the Tulsa area. I can't wait for the kids to see this film. I am donating the tickets to several church's youth groups. These churches are able to provide transportation to the children which makes things so much easier.

We havent reached our goal as of yet to rent out the entire theatre but we are nearing close.
