Blake Family Fund
Katherine and I met when we were young. We grew up in small town, rural Mississippi; in a town where everyone knows each other on a first name basis. When we came out as transgender, we faced rejection by our families. My entire family and all but one member of Kat's family is no longer apart of our lives.
We have two beautiful, rambuncious youngsters. They are six and three. We do home-school for them. I am the lead learning coach, participating M-F online.
We are both transgender advocates and activists. We do volunteer outreach in the community. Katherine works with the Trans Lifeline. She is a team lead, an operator doing peer support, encouragement, suicide prevention and crisis intervention, as well as assisting with the start up of a new line being created for friends, families, and allies of transgender people.
I write the blog Two Trans One Van. I am also the administrator of 4 online support groups for transgender folks. I volunteer as an independant recruiter connecting trans folks to jobs that work for them. Also up and running is a transgender parents group for parents that are also transgender. Currently I am working on another project for geared toward education that will be up and running soon!
I am disabled and have been fighting through that process for the last six years. So I perfrom countless hours of work for free for the transgender and LGB communities. If you can help our small family of four conintue this life changing work, we would be forever grateful! Any contribuition is appreciated :)
Many thanks and blessings!
