Vet care for sick & injured kitties
This kitten season has been a real rollercoaster! The Feline Rescue Association agreed to help with several kittens with serious medical needs and now we need YOUR help to afford their care.
Here are some of their stories!
Pretty Boy Blue came into a local shelter suffering from severe trauma to his left front leg leaving the bone exposed. He has had the remainder of that leg amputated as of 9/10 and has been adopted!
Loyola aka Lola is an amazingly sweet girl who was found on the rough streets of Park Heights, she has lost sight in her right eye due to untreated eye infections. Nothing gets this little girl down! Unfortunately she did test positive for Feline Leukemia. While her foster mom is willing to keep her indefinitely, she's been struggling a bit more than usual with infection and required several follow up vet visits and extra antibiotics
Havana and Harvest Gold came into a local shelter in very poor condition. They both had serious eye infections, which has severely impacted their sight. Havana, the little orange girl, will most likely need double enucleation. While her brother, Harvest Gold, still retains sight in one eye, he may need surgery on his other eye.
Little Igor (formerly "Steve") was found on the street by a good samaritan. Sadly, the damage was already done and he will need at least one enucleation when he is stronger. We were very worried about his condition when we got him and he and his siblings required specialized testing and antibiotics for a bacterial infection which caused severe diarrhea, but they are all doing much better now!
Phoebe (torbie) and Pepe (black) are two kitties who arrived to a local shelter in terrible condition in mid September.. A generous foster took them in under FRA's program and Phoebe was started on antibiotics immediately for her eyes. We knew they would have to come out but wanted to wait until she was in better body condition.
On 10/2 I got an email from their foster mom that one of Phoebe's eyes had ruptured. She is at our vet right now having both eyes removed.
These are just a few of the kitties currently in the Feline Rescue Association's program in need of your support. We have a total of about 120 cats in our program, many of them with extraordinary medical needs. The vet visits, medications and surgeries add up quickly.
It is only with your support that we can give them the chance they so desperately need. Please donate to allow us to continue to say YES to these cases and continue to save lives!
