Blue Mountain OM Fundraiser

Colorado Odyssey, Inc is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and our federal tax exempt number is 84-1518089.
In January of this year, a team of seven Blue Mountain Elementary students in 3rd-5th grade began a journey with the Odyssey of the Mind program. Knowing that the program emphasizes creative thinking, effective teamwork, and problem solving skills, parents and kids jumped on board so the kids could gain valuable real-life experience. Now, after only 3 months of (intense) preparation, the kids have won both Regional and Colorado State championships and have an opportunity to compete at World Finals against over 800 teams from 26 countries! While this is such an honor and the kids are so excited to go, it is also an unexpected financial event that we need your help to make happen.
Odyssey of the Mind is a creative problem-solving competition with a long-term component (technical requirements worked into a theatrical performance) and a spontaneous component, in which we solve problems on the spot. Our students built a structure out of balsa wood weighing less than 15 grams that held 815 pounds! That put the team in the top position in the nation for all State competitions held thus far. In addition to winning the long-term component, the team also won the spontaneous problem at the State tournament, so they are excited to see how their skills compete on the World stage.
To cover the cost to send seven students and a coach to World Finals for the 4 day competition, the team needs to raise $7,000. That amount covers tournament fees, on-campus dormitory housing, and a van to transport the team. Please give whatever you can – no amount is too small – and MANY THANKS for your support!!
With deepest gratitude,
Sarah (5th), Justin (4th), Shiva (4th), Hayden (3rd), Aayush (3rd), Tucker (4th), and Addie (5th)
“Everybody works so hard and so this is also why we have made it this far” - Sarah , 5th Grade
"I've learned a lot about working with people who don't always agree with each other, but actually have pretty good ideas in the long term." - Tucker, 4th Grade
“Odyssey of the mind helps me to be creative. I enjoy spontaneous , designing props and my costume.” - Aayush, 3rd Grade
