Book Fund for Indigenous Books

To address the recent surge of children in custody and separated from family, we are working with a local Houston non-profit currently housing Central American and Mexican adolescents to get books in the hands of children.

We recognize the power of books to provide an escape from the walls of detention centers and a book's ability to free the mind and heart--if only for a little while. 

In addition to collecting books for the drive in partnership with local book stores and an Amazon Wishlist, I would like to buy books in native languages (many of the children are indigenous, with little Spanish or English).

Our goal is to raise $500 and to have the books in the custody centers by July 7.
