Distributing books, Uganda mission!

Donation protected

Hello friends,
My name is Fanny Martinez. I've been living a life of paying it forward for the last 5 years. I began my journey in Haiti and Dominican Republic, followed by community service in my town of North Hollywood, California, and now in Uganda, East Africa. I do not belong to any non-profit. I am simply setting out to accomplish a fulfilling lifestyle of giving back now that my own kids are grown adults.

I've created this crowd-funding campaign in my efforts to fund the final stage of this worthy mission to "Enhance the Culture of Reading in Children" through the use of books and implementation of reading programs.

After 2 years of collecting 9,000 children books and school supplies,  I managed to ship and receive the books successfully in Uganda this past September 2015 when I was there. The books remain safely stored awaiting my return.

At this semi-final stage of the project... I am going back to Uganda in May or June of 2016 for the purpose of distributing the donated books among the schools and orphanages selected. I'll be staying in Uganda for 6 months in myquest to develop partnerships that together we'll create reading comprehension programs for the students and teachers training workshops. An assessment will then be conducted to measure the success of the reading programs.

Any donations I am able to receive from this campaign will go towards this project which has always been titled "Gift of Giving Project"

Some of the project expenses during my 6 month stay will include, but not limited to, paying storage fees, internet/data/phone usage, school lunches during programs(kids can't learn while hungry), transportation of books, volunteers, facility visits, meetings, etc.
I'm hoping to get your financial assistance to help me accomplish all that needs to be done smoothly. Any amount counts. I can even ask a partnering 501(c)(3) organization to provide me with a tax-deductible receipt for your donation should you need it.

As you know I am quite transparent in showcasing my every step on social media sites to include my blog, therefore, you can see a nd feel the impact your donation is providing.
The dollar conversion makes the US dollar quite valuable. I say this... to say that every single dollar truly counts.

Example: A cup of Starbucks coffee at $6. USD translates to approx. 23,000 Ugandan shillings. This amount can feed one child for 5 school days. I will be working with up to 10 schools. So far we have pre-selected 6 schools and 2 orphanages. The others will be chosen upon my return and as needed.

Thank you in advance for absolutely any help you may be able to provide financially.

If you'd like to volunteer with me in Uganda, you are most welcome to see it and experience it for yourself. It’s such a rewarding feeling to impact our future leaders and to inspire others. I plan to be there from May/June until November of this year assuring this mission's success. I hope to have your support at any level.

Thank you for your humble consideration and for your time in reading my call-to-action. Together we can change many lives.

PS. I give praise to Piccolo's Books in Los Angeles for their donation of the 9,000+ books :) Thank you for believe in me and in this purposeful mission to enhance the culture of knowledge around the world.
