Hi there and good day to you. Our names are Samantha & Robert Brockmann. We recently welcomed our baby Braedyn Brockmann into the world! Braedyn was born prematurely on July 5th 2017 at 1lb. 15 ounces.
We face serious medical bills since his dad does not have an employment position that provides healthcare and his mom is not working due to being with Braedyn around the clock at the NICU!
The reason for the early delivery was due to Samantha having next to no cervix thus making it impossible for our child to make it for full term delivery. By the time the doctors figured out the complication, it was too late to do anything about it without even greater risk. This meant that we could only wait and hope that he could stay in the oven as long as possible. Well at 26 weeks and 4 days Mother Nature kicked in and Braedyn was born.
Since Braedyn's birth he has faced many challenges with so many more to come that seem insurmountable. He has fought and battled his way to being 2 months old & has really come a long way.
We just found out that Braedyn is now going to be battling ROP (Retinothapy of Prematurity) which basically means that his retinas have not fully developed yet. If they do not develop accordingly over the next few weeks then Braedyn is at risk for potential loss of color through the retina, lazy-eye, or even permanent blindness.
Braedyn will undoubtedly be in the NICU until at least November around his original due date or a little longer. He will still need extensive physical therapy, not to mention other necessary therapies. He deserves nothing less than the very best of health and care that we can provide and to do so we are seeking your help and support. We could use funds for daily needs such as gas money, clothing, diapers and getting ready to provide for Braedyn's special needs.
We have created this GoFundMe page for him and we are hoping to reach out to as many open and heavy hearts as we can so that we can all assist in Braedyn's care helping him to grow up healthy and strong.
Everyone who contributes will be provided a current picture of Braedyn. Updates and pictures of his progression will also be provided! We would consider everyone who helps a part of his family and we will be updating everyone regularly!
