Break the Patent Stranglehold

Donation protected
The patent system was created to support entrepreneurs and encourage innovation – now it does the opposite stifling innovators and new ideas. It set out to ensure that anyone with a good idea had a window of time to develop and introduce it.

Now patent trolls are using the system to rip off inventors and companies developing new ideas, and some large corporations are registering patents and then sitting on them just to restrain any competition. This is bad for new business, bad for human development and bad for our planet!

WITH YOUR HELP WE CAN BREAK THE PATENT STRANGLEHOLD!

Check out www.breakthepatentstranglehold.com  for more information.

By publishing millions of innovative ideas we can ensure that patents cannot be taken out on them. Publishing the ideas is not for gain but and gives us no hold on them because by putting them into the public domain ensures that anyone with the ability to develop and introduce them. No longer will unscrupulous individuals and organisations be able to use restrictive patents to slow the world’s development of ideas and innovations.

Creating a patent for an innovation is very expensive but publishing the idea so it cannot be patented is very cheap. The Database of Ideas – www.thedatabaseofideas.com  – will be the repository of the 1000's and 1000's of ideas and innovations that we publish through the systematic use of TRIZ, surrounding restrictive patents with published innovations leaving them unusable.

The ‘Database of Ideas’ will be placed online with no access restriction and, through the ‘principles of innovation’ we will add 1000’s of new idea evolutions every year across a wide range of industries.

Why We Need Funding?
To create the ‘Database of Ideas’ we need seed funding to complete the necessary software programmes, the online database and then check, upload and publish the many thousands of ideas as they are created. We are looking for £48,000 to set up the whole system and publish all of the innovations we can create through the study of our first target sector – the Patent Trolls – surrounding their patents with published ideas making them worthless and putting them out of business.

Restrictive Patents
There are 100,000’s of restrictive patents out there, and 100,000’s of companies worldwide being ripped off or restricted.
      - Disease gene patents that threaten the ability of physicians to provide medical care to their patients
      - Seed patents that restrict farmers from replanting as they have for centuries.
      - Patents that stop researchers  developing specific cancer cures without paying out a fee to do research.
      - Patents that prevent the manufacture and use of fully recyclable and enviro-friendly plastics.
      - A patent for grass that stops growing held by a lawnmower manufacturer to ensure its not developed

……….. and 1000’s and 1000’s more!

WHO WE WILL TAKE ON – AND HOW!
We have our Top 10 Targets, starting with the Patent Trolls and then moving through the industries best known for using patents for restrictive purposes.

      - Patent Trolls – for example Intellectual Ventures which holds over 600 patents for purely restrictive purposes.
      - Education and Educational Technology
      - Financial Technology
      - Energy
      - Agro chemicals
      - Pharmaceuticals
      - Information & Communications Technology (ICT)
      - Food & Nutrition
      - Systems, Applications & Products (SAP)
      - Medical Devices

By using TRIZ principles we will take current restrictive patents and surround them with single step innovations. By publishing these innovations in The Database of Ideas we render useless the use of the patent to restrict further development because they now have ‘Prior Art’ and are in the public domain.
