Help a Breast Cancer Survivor to Heal -
'Who Am I Now?' is a groundbreaking, therapy program designed to support women in the aftermath of their gruelling treatment, who are often left struggling physically, emotionally and financially and with their confidence in tatters .
Launched in February this year, the first program has already made a huge, positive change to five women's lives! However, we need more funds to keep these programs running.
At present there is no Government Funding available for therapy programs for Breast Cancer patients post treatment.
Here's a testimonial from one of the participants on our first program:
"Last week I have been so fortunate to experience four amazing days at Equine Encounters Australia for the first Breast Cancer Retreat “Who am I now?”
The 4 day program in the Hunter Valley included participating in equine therapy, restorative yoga, mindfulness and group work. I have come away having learnt so much about myself and met the most amazing beautiful and resilient women who are kicking goals post breast cancer!
I had no idea how much horses could reflect back the emotions I have suppressed while putting on the mask showing 'I’m ok'. Working with these beautiful and in some cases also damaged animals has taught me how to heal myself and helped me realise that I really will be OK.
I’m so grateful for this experience and would love the opportunity to help other women to start to heal. In order to do this we are raising money to sponsor women to attend the “Who am I now?” Retreat at Equine Encounters Australia. I would love you to donate NOW to the Gofundme page below. We also ask you to share with your friends." - Sharon from VIC
Please watch moments from our first program, followed by Alice Monfries from CH9 News.
