Walking Across America for Overdose

Donation protected
In March of 2014 my sister, Brittany, died from a drug overdose. I began researching facts and statistics about drug overdose and was shocked to find out that there are over 40,000 drug overdose deaths per year in America alone. I knew that I had to try and do something big in Brittany's honor to try and make a difference. I tried a few things here and there and raised a bunch of money for organizations that deal with addiction. I still wasn't satisfied. The month of her one year death anniversary I knew that I had not done enough.

I can't remember the exact date, but I do remember the moment that the idea of walking across America came to me. I knew right then and there that it was going to happen. I began doing research, collecting gear, and hiking as much as possible. I read books and web blogs from people who have done it before. The more I read, practiced, and told people about it, the more I knew that it was the right thing and the right time for me to do this.

I will need help with funding the trip, but also with spreading the word. Every dollar that is not spent on the trip will go to charity or to help me start my own non-profit afterwards if it ends up being a big success.
I will be posting updates about my trip, as well as facts about drug overdose on my website. brettbramblewalks.com
