Brighten up Seattles Instersections

Seattle based Artist Desmond Hansen is adding some color to the boring gray traffic signal boxes found in the city’s intersections. “I'm raising money to paint art on selected boxes that pay tribute to some great Seattle Icons. I'm always in need of brushes, Paint, Tape, Drop Cloths, Respirator filters, Gloves, hydrophobic Clear coat, and much more. Most of these boxes are filthy and covered in ugly blotches of gray paint the city has used to cover graffiti over the years. After researching and coordinating I found that as a professional artist, contributing my time and skills is a great way to give back to the community. Unfortunately the city does not currently have a dedicated budget for this project so I'm left with the choice of funding the project on my own. I went out and started on a few of them already and really appreciate the support people have been giving me. Influential people within the community stated that I should probably start a go fund me so they can help contribute so thats what this is. We reached our first goal of 2,000 which covers some of the boxes in West Seattle so I raised our goal to 10,000 which will enable me to go beyond West Seattle with this project and if it gains traction In other cities and states I may continue to raise the goal to reflect such an extensive undertaking. Thank you in advance to anyone who contributes, donates, shares the videos, links and artwork. It helps make our intersections an interesting place to be. I'd really like to get around to doing all of them and you are helping to make that a possibility. Thank you.”
