Bring Axel Back Home

On Tuesday July 10th, we arrived in Costa Rica for a two week family vacation. We had plans to visit the beach, national parks, some museums and much more. Unfortunately, on Wednesday July 11, our little 3 year old fell Down while playing and broke his femur. We had to rush him to the National Children’s Hospital and had to wait 6 hours for them to be able to operate on him. It was the scariest day of my life and I keep playing it all over and over again in my head. 

Axel had to be put under for the operation and then put into a Spika Cast which made him immobile. He has to be laying flat for 24 hours a day, unable to sit up, unable to go potty on his own or move anything past his ribs. He has been a rockstar but we are stuck in Costa Rica. He is not able  to fly home on a commercial airline flight due to TSA regulations that he can’t sit up. 

We we are trying our very best to find an air ambulance to get our family back to the United States but it is incredibly expensive. We are asking for your help and prayers to help get us back home. It is incredibly hard being stuck inside all day with a 1 and 3 year old, and not being able to do anything but sit and watch Tv. 

We thank all of our family and friends for the prayers so far and please don’t stop. If we are not able to pay for an air ambulance home, we will need to stay until August 13 to be able to remove the cast. As you can imagine, we didn’t plan on staying that long or bring the funds to stay that long. 

Axel has been a rockstar and not in a lot of pain, just very uncomfortable and wants to be able to get up and move around. It breaks my head as his mommy that this had to happen to him. If you can give anything, big or small, it would be greatly appreciated to try to get us home. Please we ask you from the bottom of our hearts to help us.
