Bring Mika to San Francisco

Puppy stabbed by 10 year old boy, needs a safe home
11 month old "Mika" needs a new lease on life.  Since moving to the South last winter (after more than a decade in SF), headlines like these have become my new normal... Mika and her brutal story just happened to be my introduction. Then six months old, with her body healed (minus one eye), her court case won and a media frenzy surrounding her, Mika went up for adoption. She was scooped up by a woman who promised to make up for the trauma Mika had suffered as a tiny puppy and give her the life she truly deserved. Unfathomably, this translated to Mika spending the next five months on a heavy chain, staked in the mud with little human interaction. For the second time in her very short life, she's back at at the local humane society (where I volunteer)waiting in a concrete cell, for yet another chance at love. Anyhow, I'm headed to SF on Wednesday and just had an idea... maybe her story will speak to someone in my old neighborhood and she'll get the opportunity to get the h*ck out of the South.
