Eagle Scout Project
Donation protected
My name is Victor Hinojosa, I'm a 16-year-old honest guy working hard to attain the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America.
To do this I'm undertaking a project that will be helpful to my community - "While a Life Scout, plan, develop, and give leadership to others in a service project helpful to any religious institution, any school, or your community. (The project should benefit an organization other than Boy Scouting.) - The Boy Scout Handbook - A Guide To Adventure, A Guidebook For Life.
My Eagle Scout project is installing a Daktronics LED Message Display Sign outside of Holly Hall (main town building) and then building a display case around/above it that brings out the historical aspect of the building it's in front of. This new display will not only bring out the history we hold dear to our hearts here in Bristol, but it will also show how Bristol is a town that's taking the next step forward - always changing for the better.
The sign itself would be utilized by the Town of Bristol for publishing important dates to the citizens such as tax day, voting day, town meeting and so much more.
This project means a lot to me as I just recently attended Boys' State - "a leadership laboratory for rising high school senior boys. The central focus of the program is Vermont town, county, and state government, and its organization, policies and procedures". They taught us how much a simple thing like voting can slip our minds easily, yet it's one of the most powerful rights and duties we as citizens have.
I'd never want a citizen in the small town of Bristol, the state of Vermont or the country of the U.S.A. to miss their opportunity to voice their opinion by voting - if you won't donate because it's not your town, donate because you want others to be able to have an equal opportunity to be informed about when they can cast their vote. You don't have to live in Bristol to help a Scout out!
Doing this project requires a list of things, the main items that I need to purchase are -
*The LED Message Display Sign
*Lumber for the display case
*Concrete for the foundation
I have a tentative date for starting the project after all the items are purchased by August 25th. It would mean a whole lot to me if you could help out in any way.
You'd not only be helping me out but also the Bristol community and yourself by contributing to this community-oriented cause.
Checks/Cash donations can be sent to P.O. Box 52, Bristol, VT 05443 in the name of "Victor Hinojosa" feel free to put "Eagle Scout Project" in the memo.
ANY AND ALL CONTRIBUTIONS (online, cash, or check) will go towards my Eagle Scout Project.
If you have any questions do not hesitate to reach out to me using my email ([email redacted]) or phone (802)-458-5821
