Baskets of Hope for Down Syndrome


Brittany's Baskets of Hope is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded by me, Brittany Schiavone, a young woman thriving with Down sydnrome. Through my organization, I create and deliver welcome baskets full of resources, love, and hope to new Down syndrome families across the country. My mission is to celebrate these new bundles of joy and to remind them and their families that individuals with Down syndrome can do anything! 

100% of the funds we raise go to supporting families with a new baby with Down syndrome. We use your donations to purchase items for the welcome baskets and to mail them to families deserving some extra resources, support, and love all over the United States! I want to spread the word that no matter who you are or how you're born, you can lead a full, joyful life! 

Since delivering my first basket of hope in October 2016, our organization has been booming! We've now sent baskets to over 1,000 families in all 50 states across the country (and Puerto Rico)! I've spoken at schools, colleges, and conferences across Long Island and my work has been featured on Forbes, CBS, Inside Edition, FOXBusiness.com, ABC7NY, The Mighty, Elephant Journal, and News 12 Long Island, where I was selected as one of the news channel’s “12 Making a Difference in 2016.”

And, in December 2019, I was named the L'Oreal Paris Woman of Worth National Honoree at a star-studded gala in New York City. 


Requests continue to stream in, which means we need YOUR help! Please donate and share my cause to help us celebrate new babies with Down syndrome and fill our baskets with children's books with messages of acceptance, handmade baby's blankets, onesies, resources for the parents, and more!
