Bruce's Rally Against Cancer
Chances are, if you live in Burlington, WI you have seen Grandpa Bruce about town with grandchildren in tow.
A frequent visitor of the Aurora Wellness Center, Burlington Library, the Boardwalk Apartments to see his grandkids and most recently the Waller Elementary School, Bruce is known for his positive attitude, friendly and engaging personality and telling everybody he meets to stay beautiful and never change.
In August of 2015 Bruce's life was changed when he was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer. Shortly after, Bruce underwent a masectomy at the Cancer Treatment Centers of Wisconsin. After a biopsy of the tissue they discovered a second form a cancer; Stage 1 Follicular Lymphoma, a cancer of the blood.
In the coming months, Bruce will need to undergo both chemo and radiation therapy for up to a year or more. Due to Bruce's physical limitations and restrictions during chemo and radiation, we are looking to move Bruce into a home with his daughter Sarah, son-in-law Jake and his grandchildren Madison and Mason, where Sarah can become his fulltime caregiver.
100% of the proceeds from this Go Fund Me Campaign will go to the relocation, treatment and after treatment care of Bruce, that insurance will not cover.
