VisionLA ’15 Climate Action Arts Festival is a Los Angeles-based arts festival engaging communities county-wide, calling for a swift response to the climate crisis, and creatively envisioning L.A.’s sustainable future. We see the climate crisis as an opportunity for broad social change, and VisionLA Fest aims to stimulate a creative response through arts engagement.
VisionLA Fest is an arts and culture festival involving dozens of arts events in all disciplines, taking place all over L.A. November 30 - December 11, 2015. The festival is timed to coincide with the U.N.’s crucial international climate meeting in Paris, COP 21 , as well as the concurrent Art COP21 , our sister Parisian arts festival. Both Art COP21 and VisionLA Fest aim to express support for a strong international climate agreement and positive, sustainable change. www.visionlafest.org
The VisionLA program will be released in early November, but it’s shaping up to be a major cultural event, featuring dozens of music, film, visual art, performance, theater, and public artworks and events, as well as community art-making, panel discussions, and educational workshops, to be held at both major cultural institutions and community-based venues across the Southland. Just a small sampling of our partnering venues and artists include: the Armory Center for the Arts, Beyond Baroque, Downtown LA Artwalk, Hammer Museum, Helms Design Center, LA Mudpeople, Lychcoff gallery, Metabolic Studios, Moryork Gallery, Padua Hills Playwrights, Street Symphony, Tree People… and so many more! The festival will also feature a climate and sustainability education, outreach and activism component through our partnering organization 350 SoCal Climate Action.
VisionLA Fest is truly a grassroots effort with no corporate funding and an all-volunteer staff who deeply care about a just, sustainable future for all. Please donate what you can to help us co-create this groundbreaking event and give it reach and impact!
