It's Misten again! I can't believe the support we recived after KDLT did their story last month, and the timing was Heaven sent as volunteers have stepped up at a time when the Rez dogs need us most! We need help!
We have been notified that the month of March will be critical in Pine Ridge as round up events are being scheduled. For those unaware, round ups involve gathering and killing of stray dogs - and although anyone involved in rescue on the reservation knows it can be necessary, the dogs gathered up are the ones that can be caught. This means that the young, sick, and trusting are at most risk!
The B Squad volunteers are asking for help to cover gas money and other rental costs that may be needed to move the large number of dogs that will be needing a ride. Today, March 4th, a B Squad transport is doing a 14 drive to move 20 dogs to rescue - and we have a need for 6 more transports like this just this month! People are willing to drive, but they need monetary assistance to do it!
Every penny received stays directly in a fund for gas and rental costs - this takes the pressure off of rescue groups so they can focus on getting the dogs vetted and adopted!
**The B Squad Transport is a group of normal people who volunteer their time, money, and vehicles to transport dogs primarily from the Pine Ridge and Rosebud Reservations to partner rescue groups in the Midwest. We are not currently classified as a 501 C3 non profit, but we are working to gain that status so future contributions will be tax deductible - but trust us, there is no monetary profit in transporting, but the puppy kisses are pretty sweet :)
