The Bucket Bunch Kitten Fund

These four kittens were found at a construction site in Naples, Florida. It turns out, the momma cat put the kittens in a 5-gallon bucket that was sitting on a scaffolding trailer in North Fort Myers. When the stucco workers unloaded the trailer at the Naples job site, they found the bucket of kittens. The kittens rode on the open scaffolding trailer from N. Ft Myers, FL to Naples, FL on I-75, which is at least a 45 minute drive, and on a major highway. The workers gave the kittens to Peggy of Sonrise Building Company, so she could find a safe place for them. Peggy brought the kittens to the Naples Cat Alliance, free-roaming, no-kill shelter. These kittens are so little and really needed their momma, so Dominick Russo of the NCA, accompanied Peggy back to the job site to trap the mother cat. Upon arrival the stucco worker informed him that the mother was up in North Ft. Myers, this is how we learned the story of the babies being found in the bucket. He assured Dominick the mother was nice and he would be able to put her in a carrier. He was true to his word and we drove up to get momma cat. The whole time we were driving up there I kept imagining these tiny, fragile little lives bouncing around in an open trailer from I-75 exit 143 to exit 105. They are so lucky to be alive and lucky that there are still people in this world that want to help. Thank you to Peggy for bringing the kittens to us, and thank you to Saul for locating the mother for us. The kittens were reunited with their mother last night and everyone was very happy. We are raising money for vet expenses. The cost for this little group is around $500 to have them all spayed/neutered, tested for FIV/FeLV, microchipped, rabies vaccinated, fvrcp vaccinated, dewormed and flea treated. We have about 100 kittens that we need to provide vetting services for, to get them ready for adoption. We will be using all monies to pay for the medical on the Bucket Bunch and others just like them. If we meet our goal of $10,000, we will be so happy!! We want to be able to provide help to the abandoned/stray cats living on the streets and this is a great start. Thank you for whatever you can give!
