You have helped cosiderbly with your donations...but Buddha is back in the Hospital and is about to have an operation.

"Hello friends as you all know I have been battling Diabetes for several years now and has left me with bad kidneys that are not cleaning out toxins in my body which lead to bad infections that are life threatening .I am currently in the hospital and will be having surgery done in the next day to remove badly infected area. Its a scary and delicate situation. I do not have health insurance and have to pay out of pocket. Friends, I will need your help in the weeks to come not just financially but mentally, I'm a bit scared and ask for your prayers ...Thank you and God Bless you All..."

We set up a fundraiser for TV producer, Host, Musician, Friend BUDDHA GONZALEZ last November. He has been going through some particularly hard times--and their not over yet. Sometimes, it's hard to accept that incredbly talented and brilliant entertainers are not fairing as well as they might deserve.

Buddha is part of our media collective called OSI 74. He and Domino (Juan Carlos Gallo) have given our ROKU channel 2 seasons of amazing shows at their own cost and have done much to promote the OSI in the past 2 years. They are our family.

All the while that he has been entertaining thousands of viewers, Buddha has been in an out of the hospital with serious illnesses as well as taking care of his mother who is also seriously ill.

Both Buddha and Mom have been in and out of the hospital. To add insult to injury--they had to temporailly evacuate during hurricane IRMA.  Buddha is an accomplished musician with ties to world class bands llike P-Funk and Mutiny and his keyboard and protools were stolen during one of his prolonged absences.  

I don't pretend to have any long term answers and I don't pretend to fully understand the gravity of his situation. I am open to any and all suggestions that will ultimately help our friend. 

Their home needed repairs. They needed to find a tenant for their property to help with expenses as well as evict a delinquent tenant who has not paid rent for a year.  This is their missing sink...Much of this has been repaired now thanks to you!

This is a crack in the ceiling...

Many have helped. OSI producer Don "Sleazy" Drakulich- who is more angel than his devilish GWAR persona-has personally helped with cash, assistance, a place to stay during the hurricane, and paying their electricity bill (Don is not a rich rockstar, he has a family to support, a mortgage, and recently wrecked his car). Buddha and Don have plans to make some music togteher in the future.

Buddha's close friend and co-producer Domino has also bought food and has given cash and endless assistance to Buddha to help him through this and he does not have unlimited funds either. I understand Monster Madhouse Producer Karlos Borloff and Secret Sundays producer Olav Phillips of Paranoia have also boosted Buddha financially.

OSI fans have even helped with funds for medicine, etc. but we don't want to wear out our biggest fans. As the head of OSI I have been charged with trying and do something different and get more help from more people. Unfortunately my finances are limited with family business of my own. Many of us are working artists living hand to mouth...

Buddha feels embarrassed by all the help so far and feels guilty from all the sad stories and posts on the internet. His confidence should not be a casualty of this situation. Buddha is multi-talented and brilliant! It was suggested that we try and get a reel together and get him jobs putting video together.
He is a skilled editor and a great person to have on your creative team .We do know a lot of video producers. Most of the producers with OSI don't have actual budgets for their shows and edit themselves or have volunteers...but things change...we may be able to newtwork and find some opportunities for Buddha. One of our producer friends may be able to hire Buddha and help their project in the process

Long term: I would like to coordinate fundraisers for all the top OSI shows. Perhaps grants awarded to shows. Or run it like a gallery or film festival to help bring our producers art to market. We all deserve the chance to be compensated for our work. We are building a grass roots network and it is still getting stronger...it's just not strong enough to support us...yet. The ultimate goal is to use OSI as a tool for all producers to be self sufficient...so we can support ourselves and be able to create freely without fear of the wolves at the door or the hammer coming down everyday.

We were talking about selling exclusive videos and other funraisers as part of normal opperations going forward. Buddha wants to release a complation video for christmas called STUPIDER THINGS--which might be a good fundraising item going forward.


We all love Buddha. We all want to help. Let's coordinate some help for Buddha and try to find some more long term solutions.

We also need to help ourselves...each and every one of us. We need to aim higher...try harder...and believe in the value of who we are and what we do. Together we can find what will work for all of us. We have an amazingly talented team here...an amazing family that makes a lot of people happy. We deserve happiness, too.
