Bulldog Love: Help Save Cheyenne

Donation protected
On the morning of Sunday Jan. 6th, I woke up at 4:30 am to  use the bathroom.  When checking on the puppies it appeared that Cheyenne was severely lethargic.  She was barely moving, not responding to her name, and all around not acting like herself.  We were incredibly worried so we took her to the nearby Emergency Animal hospital.

After examining her the Vet suggested that it may be Steroid Responsive Meningitis AKA Beagle Pain Syndrome.  They wanted to keep her in the hospital for 12-36 hours to give her steroids, antibiotics, and pain meds and closely monitor her.  We agreed that she stay overnight and go from there as the  initial charge was going to be close to $900.  The next morning when I got off of work I went to the hospital paid another $200+ and picked her up to bring her and the meds home.  I took off work half the next night so that I could monitor her after her mama left for work.  We did not want to leave her alone.

That day and night did  not go horribly, but there was no improvement whatsoever.  That night before I was leaving for work we heard a strange noise coming from the area where she was.  Going to check on her she was squealing and writhing in pain.  I calmed her down.  And went to work.  At 2:00 AM this morning her mama woke up and went to tend to her.  (I had been monitoring Cheyenne through the security cameras while at work and she clearly wasn't comfortable but wasn't writhing, flopping, or squealing.)  But as soon as she saw her mama she started to squeal again.  Mama had to go to work, so she left, leaving Cheyenne out in the kitchen under the view of the cameras.  I monitored her for a bit longer and then came the horrible , horrible squealing, the falling over herself, the flopping to the floor on her side and breathing very, very heavily, all while continuing one of the worst sounds I have ever heard in my life.  I rushed out the door at work, calling my boss from my cell to let him know that I had to leave and rush home for an emergency. When I arrived home I scooped her  up and put her in the car, drove her an hour away to the best Veterinary Hospital I know.  They have informed us that the SRM diagnosis was a good guess but is not correct because there would have been some improvement by now if that was it.  So now the next steps are Anesthesia,  Xrays, then possibly more Anesthesia and MRI, then possibly more Anesthesia and Spinal Tap.  And this is all just for diagnositics, not even considering treatment for whatever they find to be the issue.  Cheyenne is a huge part of our family.  She makes us smile.  Her hugs,  Her snorts, and gurgles, her loving sloogery kisses bring joy to our hearts.  Artemisia seems lost without her.  There is a huge void in our hearts without her here.  So if anyone can help us to make it possible that she remain with us on this Earth for a bit longer it would be greatly appreciated.
