BurnerBikes to Hurricane Victims
Spende geschützt
**Please read updates***
Thousands of bikes were left abandoned on the Playa after BurningMan.
Thousands have been left homeless, carless and presently without electricity, water, with no public transportation infastructure.
Help us get the bikes from the Playa to those who need transportation across the Caribbean. This movement will help shift these countries, region, and world toward sustainable transportation solutions. This program will create jobs through bike maintainence training.
----
In 2010, while living in the Turks & Caicos, I founded with a local investor the first bike shop and major brand distribution (Trek) in Turks & Caicos Islands. It was a wild success and having bikes on island has changed the sporting landscape and created more bike centric/fitness focused tourism opportunities. There has been a continued need to expand such programs and get bikes broadly used by locals...even BEFORE Hurrican Irma.
Now is the time if you do genuinely believe in Sustainable solutions for climate change to help us redistribute.
Step one: $1400 (Playa transportation- Reno/Servicing & Storage)
Step two: Transporation Reno - Florida
Step three: Transporation Florida - Turks & Caicos, Cuba, (BVI, Saint Martin/Sint Maarten depending on fundraising and partnership efforts)
Step four: Build bike maintence training programs and support for insland communities.
We will move this under a nonprofit so we do have an EIN (We5 Foundation CA 501c3) which you can use for tax deduction purposes.
