Buy a church for Rev. Ed Cross

Tax deductible
The Reverend Ed Cross has been the pastor of The Endless Love Temple for many years, and his congregation has worshipped in the old Mason Hall building on the south side of Columbia Street just below 3rd Street.  The Masons had intended to sell the building to the Temple, but alas, some $35,000 were owed in back taxes.  As a result, the City of Hudson had to foreclose on the property and now it will be sold at auction this October (exact date to be determined).  To bid on the property, the city requires 10%  of the taxes owed, presented in a cashier's check.  Our goal is $4,000 to cover the check and expenses.

The Reverend Ed Cross has been a tireless supporter of Hudson and many of its citizens — an icon of the city.  Most visibly, he has been the Supervisor of the 2nd Ward for many  years, representing the interests of citizens on the Columbia County Board of Supervisors.  We met him at a Hudson Interfaith Meeting and he joined us as a reading mentor in Lisa Dolan's famed "Hudson Reads" program for intermediate school students.  And this year we were proud to have mentored four you boys who are turning out to be soccer champions, under the tutelage of the Hudson Youth Center Soccer Program. He is a citizen who truly always thinks of others before himself.  And there are literally hundreds of Ed Stories about how much he has given back to our city.

We think it's time that we all thought of Ed first, and gave him and his congregation a hand.  To kick off this program, we are hosting a poolside party at our home on Sunday, September 10 from 2 to 5 pm.  Where? 397 Old State Route 82 in Taghkanic, NY 12521. Just 15 minutes from the heart of Hudson.  Call [phone redacted] for directions or more information.

And remember, your donation will be deductible.
