We can't wait to see you all at "Buzzed Words: An Adult Spelling Bee"!
Here's how it works: We're throwing a spelling bee. You heard us. A spelling B-E-E, adult style. There will be drinks. There will be adult lunchables. There will be entertainment. There will be a chance for you to prove you in fact ARE smarter than autocorrect. OR there will be a chance to prove that one of your friends is not.
There will be 12 competitors. Whoever raises the most money on behalf of Year Up will get one of the 12 coveted slots.
Why are you doing this you weirdos:
1. Year Up is an incredible organization that connects young adults with opportunities to move from minimum wage jobs to stable career paths in just one year! This nation-wide organization helps over 600 teens each year in Boston alone! So let's get together, have some fun and support an amazing cause.
2. Who doesn't love a spelling bee?! Well, maybe some of you... but that is exactly why your friends also have the chance to nominate you to compete ( sorry, we make the rules and we enforce them).
How do I raise money: Easy. You, your friends, your mom, your one-night-stand can donate money here and write the name of the person they are nominating in the comments with the donation. That means you can ask friends to donate on your behalf OR you gang up on a friend to make them show their (lack of) spelling skillz in public. We will keep this open until 15 minutes before the competition begins!
