With much hesitation, I was asked by a friend to set up this account to help with our expenses that are incurred with Blake's illness and now Shelly's upcoming 3rd brain surgery. Here is a little look into our family.  Gary and I have been married  for 23 years and have 4 amazing children (3 boys  and 1 girl). Gary is a teacher and I am a nurse . Blake is our youngest son and is an amazing water polo player and JV basketball player.  He was diagnosed with APML Leukemia December 23, 2015. This was a shock to our family as we were just starting to get back on our feet after my (Blake's mom, Shelly) had 2 brain surgeries and  suffered a  job loss in 2014. We had just said what a great year 2015 was and how good it felt that we were just able  to help others and then right before Christmas  we were told of Blake's cancer diagnosis. I spent the next 3 1/2 weeks in the hospital with him and felt so blessed that I could be there by his side.   We never imagined any of our children would be diagnosed with cancer and  we are dealing with daily clinic visits and weekend stays at the childrens hospital.   The next 8 months are intensive  treatment for Blake but the prognosis is very hopeful.

We are taken aback that we are on the receiving end once again and are humbled that others are so willing to help us.  So thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your willingness to help us during yet another crisis our family must endure.  We will overcome this and most importantly Blake will Beat Leukemia!                                  #16 Team Blake #30
