Plankowners of USS Doris Miller have called for a reunion of former crewmembers to muster in the Long Island Village of Patchogue, NY September 9 through 11, 2016.
The USS Miller was named for Pearl Harbor Hero Doris Miller, awarded the Navy Cross for his bravery that fateful day in December.
Assistance is sought to sponsor portions of the reunion such as for hats, tee shirts, catering and entrance fees for attractions such as USS INTREPID Museum and the 911 Memorial Museum in NYC.
Any money raised beyond the needs of the 2016 reunion will be used to send a delegation to Doris Miller Day commemorations in Waco, TX in 2019.
