Campaign to Support David Tyson

It is with sadness that myself, Michael Schwandt and Doug Plain share the news of David Tyson's predicament.
You may have met or known David from a club at Dupont Circle called Cagney's. As a DJ he introduced us to the likes of Depeche Mode, the Simple Minds, Joy Division and so many other amazing bands that defined the 1980's scene and our lives. He was also a DJ at The Bank nightclub which later became The Fifth Column.
He remained in Washington DC until coming down with pneumonia and going to a local hospital for treatment. It was there that he caught a far more dangerous infection called MRSA. The bacterium attached itself to three spots on his spine and has also destroyed the aortic valve in his heart requiring a valve replacement that happened last year. Since then, the infection has returned and is eating away at the attached new valve. Several other serious complications have also slowed him down.
Six months is how long the doctors think he has to live. Both the Mayo Clinic and John's Hopkins have declined to perform surgery on him because they do not think he will survive the procedure.
He was just in the hospital for 55 days and was released to an interim facility. Any funds he receives through assistance or donations help enable him to afford certain medications, help with many transportation needs and so many other seemingly simple expenses.
Our goal is raise $5,000 so that David can do some meaningful things while he fights this aggressive infection.
