Help TJ win Olympic Gold in Surfing

Please help me win Canada’s first Olympic Gold for surfing!
My name is TJ and I have been surfing my entire life. I grew up, predominantly, in Maui where surfing became my passion. I moved around following that passion and ended up in Bali, where I would surf 12 hours a day if given the opportunity. It was in Bali I met my wife and we started a family together. This adventure took me back to Canada where I was born, specifically Toronto. The first year was hard as I barely got to surf anymore. That was until I discovered, through an awesome surf shop -Surf Ontario, that Lake Surf existed and sometimes the waves are amazing. The surf community here is awesome and starting to grow rapidly. I’ve been living here for five years and I now have the opportunity to have surf back in my life and to compete in the Olympics! The first step is winning the surf nationals on Vancouver Island and then I will qualify to be a part of Canada’s Surf team in 2020. My request to anyone reading this is to help me get to the Olympics so I can bring home a gold medal for Canada!
Any money donated will be used to cover travel expenses, materials and days spent training instead of working. In order to compete at this level I need to, realistically, train everyday while also supporting my wife and three daughters. A friend suggested creating a GoFundMe page in order to make my goal more possible so now I’m calling on my community to help me get there. Thank you all so much for your support, monetarily yes but also emotionally and mentally. It has and will make a huge difference for me.
One last thing I’d like to achieve with this challenge is gaining more recognition for Canadian Surfers. There aren’t many places where you’ll find people surfing in ice storms or -20 degree weather but for lake surfers that just means surfs up! I never knew lake surfing existed before moving here and I want surfers all over the world to know about it and how amazing the surfers and surf community here actually are.
