Cancer Treatment for Derek

Hello! My name is Derek Gollaher. I live in Farmington, Missouri with my wife Katie and four children. September of 2016 I was diagnosed with a rare form of thyroid cancer called hurthle cell carcinoma. I first had a partial thyroid removal followed by a complete. I then went through a high dose of Radioactive Iodine. They said I will be checked in a year to see if it has spread. Hurthle cell carcinoma is a very aggressive type of cancer. Since then I have had other lumps pop up. Some on my chest, armpit, and more on my neck. There is no way that we can afford insurance for me so we have been paying medical bills out of pocket. I am in need of more medical help, but unable to get it because we haven't paid off all the other bills yet. I pray constantly that everything will be ok. It just brings me to tears thinking about my children growing up without a father. I just know everything will turn out all right. Thank you.
