Cardi Bach Heritage Collection
Donation protected
We have owned Login Railway Station since 2012, and since then have restored the building and given it a flavour of its former life.
The Ground Frame Cabin was returned in 2014 and has now been restored.
Our current Whitland and Cardigan Railway-Cardi Bach Heritage Display is housed in an old grounded railway wagon beside the house.
Several models of stations on the line are waiting to be displayed when space is available and a growing collection of over 1500 photos
Due to peoples generosity we have so much to exhibit that we now require a larger display area, covering the history of the railway and other artifacts
The site for a new 34 ft x 14 ft timber building has already been prepared along with a concrete pad thanks to the kind donations from visitors and the Cardi Bach Railway Society.
Malvern Timber Ltd are supplying the building which is due for delivery in early May 2018 at a cost of £5525.00 delivered and erected.
Lighting and electrics to be installed £700.00
Insulation and boarding out £1500.00
Cabinets and worktops and display boards £900.00
Flooring £850.00
External paint £385.00
This will allow all the items we have to be displayed under one roof throughout the year and not just during our annual Open Days in July.
The Whitland and Cardigan Railway, affectionately known as the Cardi Bach is a huge part of local history and a large number of local families are still connected through former employees or passengers and it is our aim to celebrate that memory.
We hope to have the building up and running for our annual Exhibition in July and would be very very grateful for any help towards achieving our aim.
Thank you for viewing this page Pete and Dawn.
