Carnegie's Trip to Fringe
Donation protected
Hi! We are the theatre department at Carnegie Vanguard High School in Houston, Texas (the #10th best high school in America.) We have been invited to perform at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland. This festival is the largest art festival in the world and exemplifies all the talent that different countries have to offer. The donations will be used to send a group of 15 high schoolers to the festival, so they can perform Holy Day by Andrew Bovell. This is the same show that these students are taking all the way to state in the UIL texas competition on May 25th. We are needing to raise this $80,000 in the next 8 weeks to reach the payment deadline in June and secure our position for the festival in August. Reaching this goal is significant because many kids need all of the funds donated in order to go to this festival. The Fringe Festival is a major oppurtunity because Carnegie is one of only three schools from North America invited to go and perform. Going to this festival would be a huge learning experience for all the kids and parents wanting to go because it would allow them to see a variety of art events and cultures that are not available at home. This is also super important to the kids in this department because it allows for their passion and dedication to theatre to be recognized on an international level rather than in a 105 seat theatre.
Any amount of money donated would be extremely appreciated! We are all so excited to go to the Fringe Festival!!!!! #carnegiegoesfringe
