Casey loses scalp!!!

on Wednesday 29th November 2017 my brothers girlfriend Casey Barnes's life took a turn for the worse..
Beautiful Casey while working in the shearing sheds as a roustabout had the most horrific accident. An accident that could only be described as something unimaginable.
While tramping the wool down in a wool pack to make more room.. Casey's amazing, long, beautiful, curly hair which was in a bun was caught in an electric motor located above her. This motor has a belt on it that drives a shaft to run the hand pieces so the shearers can shear.
Our poor darling Casey was scalped from the back of the head releasing just above her eyes and ears. My brother and Casey's' dad who are both shearers were witnesses to this devastating tragedy.
Casey was flown straight to Sydney hospital the day of her accident where she underwent 20 hours of surgery and was in an induced coma until Sunday 3rd December to limit head movement.. Casey has undergone a number of surgery's to try and save her scalp but unfortunately her scalp was unable to be saved as it died and did not take. Casey is now undergoing surgery to have artificial skin put on her head.
Our darling Casey who is such an incredible fighter has a long road to recovery and will be based in Sydney for some time.. Both casey and my brother are from country towns hours from Sydney.
As a shearer and a roustabout, not only is it bloody hard work but if it rains you don't get paid. There is no such thing as annual or sick leave in the industry.. you don't work you don't get paid.
I have started this page to ask for your support to help these two to make this incredibly tuff time they have ahead of them a little less stressful financially..
The money raised will be used for accommodation, food and travel expenses while family are needing to be based at Sydney to be with our beautiful, brave, happy go lucky, giggle Casey.
SO PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE IF YOU CAN DONATE, YOUR DONATION NO MATTER HOW SMALL WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED... IT ALL ADDS UP!!!
