"Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue, and the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true."
Hello Friends!
Every wonder why adults like to ask kids what they want to be when they grow up? Why does each child's unique answer brings a smile to our faces? Because we rejoice in a child's ability to dare to dream!
When I do CAST Musical Theater workshops in under served schools, I hear about lots of dreams. The truth is, ALL kids dream the same, irreguardless of their background!
They all want to be confident rather than fearful,
Successful rather than underskilled, and
Loved, rather than left in the shadows.
One of our camp alum would like to share her story of how CAST helped her to fulfill her dream to be Confident, Fearless and Loved.
"In the picture above, I'm the third bottle dancer from the left, performing in one of my favorite CAST shows, Fiddler on the Roof Jr.
"I'm now a CAST alum, in my sophomore of college.
Through the CAST scholarship program, I performed in eight shows in Middle School and High School.
My first CAST audition for "High School Musical" was one of the best days of my life. However, it didn't exactly start out that way.
Musical Theater was a totally new experience for me and performing in front of people was pretty scarey. Even though I didn't think I could do it, the CAST staff believed in me. At the end of the audition, I felt I could be successful.
In the following years I learned to prepare for auditions and to present myself with more and more confidence. I discovered that I was a strong dancer and became a dance captain.
Through the scholarship program I was able to perform in 7 more shows.
CAST is still a part of my life. When I am home for the summer I enjoy volunteering on stage crew. "
Your gift to CAST will be an investment in the the lives of kids who are still daring to dream. Through your generosity we can open doors and create new beginnings.
