Cavalier Centre- Perry RDA
The Cavalier Centre will be a state-of-the-art riding centre for disabled people of all ages. Over the last 6 years our community has raised over £1million to build the centre. As work has commenced we are looking for your help to raise the final £100,000 to complete our vision.
The ethos of “Riding for the Disabled” is to enrich the lives of those with disabilities through horses, providing therapy, enjoyment and fulfilment.
The facility will encompass a large indoor arena, an all-weather carriage driving track, therapy rooms, viewing gallery and classrooms, allowing people with disabilities to take part in therapeutic riding, vaulting, hippotherapy and carriage driving all year round.
The Perry group has been running for 23 years with very basic weather-dependent facilities, so the new centre will be life changing for the group.
Our activities range from purely fun, right through to training competitors to take part internationally in dressage, carriage driving and equestrian vaulting.
There is currently no other facility like this in the West Midlands. Our vision is to create a central hub for para sporting activities and events.
We want to enable many more disabled individuals to access the kind of activities that are proven to promote good health and well-being.
The Cavalier Centre will be fully accessible to enable those with mobility issues to be as independent as possible. We are already providing life changing activities with very basic facilities but with a purpose-built centre we know we can make an even bigger difference.
We want to share our fantastic facility with other community groups including the Children and Young People services, The Special Olympics, Para Equestrian Training, the armed forces for rehab injured service personnel and Wenlock Olympian Society.
As this amazing project is nearly finished we urgently need to raise the final £100,000 to be open in April 2019. We need your help, so we can help others.
