CDM Smith Nepal Book Drive
Following the devastating 2015 earthquake in Nepal, CDM Smith is providing architecture and engineering services to reconstruct resilient and sustainable infrastructure including education and health care facilities across Nepal (see description ).
Through this project, CDM Smith supported the reconstruction of 12 schools - 3 basic and 9 secondary - all of which will be ready for occupations this fall. And while the nearly 6,000 students will have a safe place to learn, the schools lack funds to provide books needed for their education.
CDM Smith has launched this GoFundMe campaign to fill the empty libraries in these brand new schools. Through consultations with teachers and local school management committees, the team has identified a need for more than 7,000 books and three-dozen tablets.
We aim to fill all 12 libraries in time for September 8, 2021: International Literacy Day. With your help, we will not just fill the shelves, but the hearts and minds of Nepal’s future generations.
Thank You from the CDM Smith Team!
