Hello family and friends, this is Marlin and I'm come heavyhearted to share with you the condition of our brother, our dear friend, Cecil, and ask for your prayers that God gives him the strenght to fight his way back to his family [Sonya - spouse, Candis - oldest daughter and Sage - daughter 8yrs of age].
On Wednesday, January 4 around 10 a.m., Cecil experienced a brain aneurysm [Subarachnoid Hemorrhage] and was careflighted to Ft. Worth Medical Center where the best surgeons and nurses scrambled to save his life. Cecil is on life support with severe swelling to the brain and the ruptured aneurysm still present. The doctors made one attempt to correct the aneurysm by performing a procedure called Endovascular Repair [Coiling] which is the placing of tiny platinum coils in the aneurysm. This is done by making a small incision near the groin and a second incision is made into the main artery that leads to the aneurysm in Cecil's brain. Unfortunately, the surgeons ran into complications as they reached the artery located on the side of Cecil's face as the artery to his brian was too curvy, making it difficult to guide the coils to the aneurysm. The good news is the bleeding has stopped and Cecil is stable but by NO means out of the woods. Cecil will be in ICU for two weeks and possibly longer depending on his condition. The on-site surgeons will be consulting with other experts to assist with next steps and hopefully avoid clipping the aneurysm which requires entering through the skull.
As you can imagine the household financial support Cecil provided will be interrupted for a while, not to mention the overwhelming medical expenses to follow. It's imperative that Sonya spends her energy focusing on Cecil and Sage and not be burdened with this. There's nothing magical about the set goal amount--just a number I feel is attainable if we collectively pull together and support this great cause.
