Cerebral Palsy Project
Donation protected
This project is focused on helping children with cerebral palsy, living in rural Bangladesh. Any funds raised will be used to support the manufacturing of assistive devices and workshop equipment, in a small rural area called Shahjadpur, with the making of wheelchairs, walkers, standing frames, corner chairs will all benefit from this project to help children in need.
Currently rural families who care for children with disabilities have limited resources for them to effectively care for their needs. This often results in the children being neglected and being treated differently within the community, the outcome of this is far more severe than what it seems. These children lose their sense of freedom, having a sense of entrapment always being confined to and dependent on their carers. Hence, this project has such high significance for these children in need; the available funding will not only provide basic wheelchairs and walkers but also give these children the basic needs of every human; being able to independently walk providing them with a sense of confidence and freedom.
Given the success of this project, not only will previously immobilised children be given the gift of movement. However, there will also be great phycological benefits of self-worth and esteem. On a larger scale, the community will begin to look equally at these children and no longer be treated differently for their differences.
There can be a significant shift in the improvement of lifestyle of children with disabilities and our mindset to how we see people with differences. However, this tremendous change will also require great help, that is why you’re help is vital in this worthy project to improve the current and future lives of children living with disabilities.
Every contribution will go towards making a difference towards these children’s lives:
$5.00 could give a child a reusable and sustainable diaper
$10.00 could give a pair of eye glasses to a child to allow them to read and see properly

I am currently a University of Sydney undergraduate student studying Biomedical Engineering and was lucky enough to work on this project to help kids living with cerebral palsy in rural Bangladesh. Where I was able to spend a week with these amazing people and experience the true living conditions of individuals living with disabilities. Hoping to make a difference to the lives' of these young children I brought this story home to share with others.
