Black Panther Movie Showing

Tax deductible
Compassion Fayetteville's Black History Planning team is raising funds to send about 100 students to see the movie, Black Panthers, on February 16, 2018.  We would like to be able to cover their admission and snacks for the movie.

The screening will be held at AMC Theatre and cost per young person is $15 (TBD) to include a popcorn and drink. The screening will be followed by a panel of discussion questions and feedback to further the learning and analysis of the film in a historical context.  All proceeds will go to paying for the private screening tickets for children and chaperones, as well as refreshments. The release of the film is February 16th, 2018, and the screenings will take place on February 16th.

The release of Marvel's film the "Black Panther" is a rare opportunity for young students to see a black major cinematic and comic book character come to life. This representation is truly fundamental for young people, especially those who are often underserved, unprivileged, and marginalized both nationally and globally.

The importance of the Black Panther film "Black Panther remains socially and culturally relevant because it imagines a world where black people continually triumph over the influences of capitalism, Western imperialism and white supremacy."
