Regina Cherise Howell was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 25 while a patient at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital. Known affectionately as Gina, and born April 2, 1971 in Washington, D.C., she was the first daughter to the union of Roosevelt Howell and Charlene McKay Howell Walker Dunlap. She was educated in the Alexandria public schools and graduated from the T.C. Williams High School in 1989. She also attended Howard University.

All who knew Gina would agree she was a friendly, fun loving, reassuring spirit especially to those who called her family or friend. Confident and frank speaking, she was a take control type of person that didn't mind giving her energy toward a right cause. Likely a trait she honed as the oldest of four children. Sadly circumstance and her myriad of medical conditions overwhelmed her body and this took it's toll far too quickly.

Gina worked most recently as a supervisor for traffic control with the Virginia Department of Transportation. She enjoyed being with people, laughing, reading, watching movies, cooking and treasured spending time with her family. Raising her sons was her steadfast priority and they both are her legacy and a testament to her hard work as a parent and loving mother.
