Chantelle and Mathieu's fight to keep Theo

Chantelle and Mathieu wanted nothing more than to have a family, they had been trying to conceive for over six years. She has PCOS which has caused infertility. In order to have a family they needed to consider alternative methods, which led them to adoption.
On November 22, 2018 they got the call that would change their lives forever. A baby boy had been born just twelve hours prior. His birth mother had made the decision to create an adoption plan and chose Mathieu and Chantelle to be his forever parents. Mathieu was at work at the time and Chantelle was getting her teeth cleaned but that could all wait as they dropped everything to go meet their baby boy for the first time. Their dream of becoming Mom and Dad had finally come true and both Chantelle and Mathieu fell deeply in love the moment they laid their eyes on little Theo. They had an instant connection with both Theo and his birth mother. They like to call her his tummy mummy. Theo's birth mother and her family are a part of their lives and very supportive of this new family.

Since it can take up to a year for an adoption to be finalized in court, the person contesting the adoption is taking this time to seek legal action to have Theo removed from his Mathieu and Chantelle. This would mean removing Theo from his loving and stable home, Chantelle and Mathieu's care, and all that Theo knows to be family since the day he was born.
At no moment did they ever think it could be a possibility that they could lose their son and they are not willing to give up without a fight, Theo is their baby and there has never been a doubt in their mind. Theo is in a positive, stable and extremely loving home where he is thriving. The lawyer, while confident in their case, has quoted them that this could cost up to $50,000 in legal fees. They are still paying for the adoption at this time and any amount will aid in paying their legal fees so they can get to court to share their story with the judge.
