Portland Youth Climate Strike 2019
Support Portland's contribution to the Youth-led Global Climate Strike!
On September 20th, youth and front-line organizations will be leading us in a series of escalated actions, training's, and educational events.
September 20th people all across Portland will be meeting at City Hall to make demands to save our future, and the future of this planet. We will be mobilizing to the Eastbank Esplanade by OMSI where there will be a Climate Festival celebrating Climate Activism in Portland and across the world. There will be numerous training's, fun activities, and many Climate Justice Organizations tabling, educating, and leading!
This GoFundMe will support the logistical aspects of organizing including
Production of the event , including A/V, staging, lights, tables, tents, etc., Port-a-potties, security, insurance and permits, first aid & medics, outreach materials, signage for the event, admin, volunteer support (i.e. food, water, beverages), green waste management, and green energy generators.
Any extra funds outside of what has been already itemized will go towards support of our youth, front-line communities and future efforts by 350PDX to further the climate justice movement!
More information about 350PDX: 350PDX is building a diverse grassroots movement to address the causes of climate disruption through justice-based solutions by inspiring, training and mobilizing people to act. Our small staff, board, volunteers, and allies are ordinary people mobilized to action to create a future free from fossil fuels with safe levels of carbon emissions. We work to affect change through advocacy, policy, and volunteer action. We are a local independent affiliate of 350.org
