Hi! We’re Gianna Gutierrez, Victoria Lee, and Zachary Kopelman, three high school music students from Davie, Florida, and we’ve been accepted to the prestigious A Cappella Academy summer program, a 10-day vocal intensive held in Los Angeles, California!

We are deeply involved in our school’s music programs, with a particular focus on our a cappella group, Aquapella, where we each hold leadership positions. Our experience in this group has ignited our passion for music and a cappella, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to take our skills to the next level at A Cappella Academy!

Help Paula Chacón get to A Cappella Academy
My name is Paula Chacón, and I am a 17-year-old singer from Veracruz, Mexico. Last November, I auditioned for A Cappella Academy, a 10-day vocal camp held near Los Angeles, California. Only the top 13% are admitted, so when I was officially accepted, I was extremely grateful and excited to embark on this journey alongside less than 100 other vocalists.

I sing since I was 4 years old, since some friends told me about A Cappella Academy, I started researching what it was about, I started looking for videos on YouTube and it seemed wonderful to me, the voices, the talent of all the participants; It is incredible what can be achieved with voice, choreography, cultural diversity, and the campus. Now going to Academy is my greatest wish, since in my country I will never have an opportunity like this.

I realized the amazing nature of a cappella, and how much it would impact my life as a whole. I have been studying music since I was 7 years old, I love music and singing is my life. I rehearse every day, and the fact that I have the opportunity to even share my love for this art with people holding the same values, proves that this isn't something I can pass up.

That is the reason why I am here. Tuition for camp comes up to $2,800 (not including airfare to and from LA from Mexico). It is my ultimate goal to raise enough money to attend camp without putting any financial strain on my family, my parents are not able to cover the tuition since they don’t earn enough money to pay for it, especially in another country.

The littlest amount goes the longest way, and if you can't donate anything, please SHARE this page to ultimately help spread the word of my goal to more people.

The deadline for any fundraising efforts for the A Cappella Academy is March 31st, so please, help me spread the word and help me get to California in June!

I was amazed by what could be achieved with just the human voice, and I knew I had to be part of it.

Last summer, that dream became a reality when I was accepted and experienced Academy for myself. It was truly life-changing. I grew so much as a musician, collaborated with inspiring artists, and formed friendships that will last a lifetime. Now I have the incredible opportunity to return for another summer, and I couldn't be more excited to continue learning and creating music at this one-of-a-kind program.

When I was about 7, I heard an A cappella version of Little Drummer Boy for the first time, and it instantly became my favourite Christmas song. That was my introduction to the world of A cappella. Back then, my brother, sister, and I would try to make a cappella covers all the time. I even remember this one time when we were about 10 years old—sitting in a restaurant, we broke into a spontaneous performance of Pirates of the Caribbean.

It's been seven years since then. Now, we're part of a real A cappella group in Mumbai.

Songs have always been my comfort. But if I’m honest, it wasn’t my passion until this year. I used to work on it with an almost indifferent attitude—as if it was just a side quest I happened to be good at. Now, however, my day feels incomplete without music; it’s become my everything.

With this newfound zeal, my teacher encouraged me to audition for A Cappella Academy, saying it would be a great learning experience—she was right. And all of 2024, I was desperate to get selected. So, this year, I submitted my audition again. What did I have to lose?

Still, I didn’t expect to be selected. Secretly, I wanted to be part of this ethereal world where vocal mastery reigns supreme. But I was convinced it wouldn’t happen.

Naturally, when I received the acceptance letter, I stared at it for a solid minute and told my friend there had to be some mistake. I almost wrote back, asking, “Are you sure you got the right person?” But soon, disbelief was replaced by wonder. How on earth did this happen?

And then came the joy—I was going to A cappella Academy!

But there’s one challenge: the tuition fee is $2,800—nearly 2.4 lakhs in INR. It would mean the world to me if you could help cover the tuition cost. Your support would ease the financial strain on my parents and help me step into this incredible opportunity.
