Thanks to all who generously donated last year to help establish an Emergency Room at Sugar Hospital. We are reaching out to you once more to seek your support in raising $60,000, which will enable us to address four critical needs at Sugar Hospital.

Imaging Equipment

The acquisition of Imaging Equipment, including C-T Scan and X-Ray machines, will significantly enhance the capabilities of our medical staff at Sugar Hospital. These advanced machines will aid in more accurate diagnoses and more effective treatment for our patients, bolstering the services provided by our Radiology, Pharmacy, and Physiotherapy departments.

Solarization

In Pakistan, the issue of load shedding and frequent power cuts poses a significant challenge, often disrupting critical services at our hospital. To mitigate this problem, we aim to implement solar energy solutions within our facilities. This transition will reduce our reliance on an unreliable power supply, ensuring uninterrupted healthcare services.

I.T. Equipment and Security Cameras

Our third priority is the upgrading of our outdated or malfunctioning computer equipment at the hospital. The current state of our computer infrastructure adversely affects staff performance and patient care. Additionally, there is a pressing need for enhanced security systems and cameras to safeguard the hospital, its equipment, patients, and staff against potential security threats.

Footcare

This year, one of our primary objectives is to improve foot care for individuals with diabetes. We intend to install equipment capable of producing customized orthotic devices, similar to tailored shoe inserts. These orthotic devices will enable our patients to move comfortably in their daily activities and maintain healthy feet.

You can make a difference by donating today to Abaseen Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) USA.  You will be helping with two critical needs of poor patients: Eye Care and Foot Care.

 

Eye Care

The first critical need is prevention of blindness, for which we want to raise $35,000. This amount will be used to establish an Eye Care Center at Sugar Hospital, where a retina trained specialist will use microscope for injections in eyes, provide laser treatment and perform cataract surgery. Also, the Eye Care Center will provide eye care awareness in remote villages.

 

According to International Diabetes Federation, "diabetes is one of the leading cause of blindness worldwide. The good news is sight can be saved in 95% of such people through appropriate diabetes control and timely treatment.”

 

Foot Care

The second critical need is foot care for which we want to raise $15,000 to be used on podiatry equipment and medication. Feet complications are very common among diabetic patients. Some of the specific complications in feet are Skin/Bone infections, Gangrene, Deformities, Charcot Foot and Amputation. These complications can be prevented with proper care and awareness.
