DEVELOPER AND CITY LOSE APPEAL, STACK AND CNPS WIN BATTLE OVER CORNERSTONE
I have been waiting years to write this post ------- a huge congratulations to everyone!
On February 24th 2020 the developer of the Cornerstone project lost their final appeal of their 2018 loss giving STACK (Save The Agoura Cornell Knoll) and CNPS (California Native Plant Society) the victory in their lawsuit against the Developer and The City of Agoura Hills in the matter.
The development would have decimated the beautiful knoll and mountainside on the South East corner of Agoura and Cornell roads (that beautiful historic hillside visible from most of the area). The victory sets aside all approvals granted by the City of Agoura Hills on the project. Period!
STACK and CNPS attorney Dean Wallraff called the ruling an "unalloyed victory" as both the trial judge and appeals judges(s) agreed that the City violated its own laws in approving the project and that the project itself violated over 10 points of CEQA and other State and Local laws.
We SIMPLY call it AWESOME!!! Congratulations to everyone who supported the effort.
If you want to read the court ruling here it is Read the ruling here
Listen, each and everyone of you made this possible. Let's carry this momentum on as we continue to preserve the lifestyle and safety in the Santa Monica Mountains.
Well DONE my friends!
Sincerely,
Steve Hess
